Kentucky Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm someone's custody status, provide or remove a booking photo, post bond, or issue an official record. For a live status or a record copy, contact the Kentucky government office that holds it.

Which Kentucky Office Holds It?

The correct office depends on the record and where the arrest or custody took place. County jail and sheriff systems cover local booking and current custody. The police agency that made an arrest may hold its incident report, while a county Circuit Court Clerk holds the underlying court file. Kentucky DOC records state-prison custody and supervision separately through KOOL.

  • County arrest or jail booking: use the County Directory to reach that county's official links. Ask the jail or sheriff for current custody and booking material; ask the arresting police agency for its incident record.
  • Booking record or photo: the Kentucky records overview explains the record layers and request path. A request under the Kentucky Open Records Act goes to the public agency that holds the record, not this site.
  • A known jail or detention facility: use the County Directory to find its county and the official jail or sheriff link. A state prison, federal facility, or immigration detention question should go to the responsible agency's locator or records office.
  • Court case, warrant, or supervision: search CourtNet for public case information, then ask the county Circuit Court Clerk for the underlying file; the Administrative Office of the Courts does not keep the county's case record. For a live warrant or supervision status, contact the issuing court or sheriff's warrants unit. Most Wanted explains the statewide check path but cannot verify current status.
  • State custody or supervision: search the official Kentucky Online Offender Lookup (KOOL) or use the DOC Mugshots page for Kentucky DOC profile and request routes.
  • Federal custody: use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. It is a custody locator, not a public booking-photo gallery.
  • Immigration detention: use the ICE detainee locator for federal immigration custody. A detainer or immigration hold is not, by itself, a Kentucky criminal charge or conviction.

Kentucky Busted Mugshots does not list a single statewide records counter because each public office keeps its own records. Start with the county directory, identify the record holder, and direct questions about access, corrections, fees, or release timing to that office.
